It's eFootball release week! With the game being free - Konami are opening the franchise up to all, and thanks to Option Files - you don't need to worry about the lack of licences on the game. The first big update, which is due to take place in Autumn, will also mark the launch of eFootball for iOS and Android devices.
Despite the significant re-brand from Konami in changing PES to eFootball and making it free to play - Option Files will still be available in the new game. This was revealed in an FAQ Twitter thread , and you can find out what else was revealed here.
It remains to be seen whether Option Files will be available at launch, with the game's roadmap suggesting at launch "Local Matches Using Renowned Clubs" will be available. With perhaps no "fake" clubs to edit - you wonder when they will arrive on the game, which will enable the use for an option file. Looking at the PlayStation Store, it claims eFootball's release date is 11 November - but we think this is the date for the new online "squad building" mode that is replacing MyClub.
An Option File for eFootball previously PES titles allows you to download community-created kits and logos to the game, via a computer. This is because they are not compatible with third-party files, unlike PlayStation.
